The Liberia Concerned Community for Constitutional Reform (LCCCR) in collaboration with the National Muslim Council of Liberia (NMCL) has called on the National Legislature to denounce the petition presented by the Liberia Christian Community last week.
The request of the Muslims came in the wake of a formal letter dated March 19, 2013, addressed to the National Legislature by Liberia Christian Community (LCC), seeking the approval of the lawmakers to declare Liberia a Christian nation.
The Council says their petition is not only reflecting objection, denunciation and rejection but also the “possible danger” to national peace and tranquility were the Republic of Liberia to revert to a Christian nation.
Meanwhile, the Liberia Concerned Community for Constitutional Reform in collaboration with the National Muslim Council of Liberia calls on the Legislature to remain resolute and exercise the highest degree of patriotism and sense of national responsibility in addressing the constitutional matters.
