Professor Stanton will speak on the Armenian Genocide of 1915 – 1922, the Native American genocides by European settlers in the United States, and the genocide of Tutsis in Rwanda in 1994.  He will explain why genocide denial violates the Genocide Convention. Professor Stanton served in the State Department from 1992 to 1999.  He drafted the UN resolutions creating the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda.
